A classified TM image from August 1991
To classify the TM image an artificial neural-network have been used. The network was trained by back-propagation using 19 pre-selected thematic classes. Blue colours correspond to different water qualities while green colours correspond to different vegetation types. Light green in the delta area correspond mainly to rise and in a minor extension to other irrigated cultures. Dry cultures (almost without vegetation in August) appear as light brawn. Reddish colours are used to classify urban areas, bared soils and beach sand. A dark grey colour is used for salt works and white for quarries.
